The myths of Greece Rome eBook H A Guerber
This was one of my favorite books as a kid. I loved the stories and pictures, but usually skipped over the quotes, though I appreciate them more now. This book traveled with me everywhere and has seen better days, as you can see from the pictures, comparing my old book on the left and the new one from this listing on the right. My old book, while worn and split at the binding, is much higher quality than this listing. The cover is nice, more purple than the original, but the plastic in the cover probably will help it survive me. Where the disappointment with this book comes for me, is the quality of the resolution and printing. As you can see from the 'The Forge of Vulcan,' the printer has lines running through the images like it was running out of toner. The image of the Farnese Bull is very pale and grainy in the new book.
I will be returning this book because the quality of the print is important to me, but if it doesn't matter quite as much to you, the stories are wonderful and inspired both my imagination and interest in Greek mythology, which I have carried my whole life. I will tape my old book back together until I can find the original print or similar, perhaps in a used book store.

The myths of Greece Rome eBook H A Guerber Reviews
Got for free thanks
I think a book referred to as "illustrated" should have at least 1 illustration. Be advised I could not find any illustrations in this book.
It Arrived in a timely fashion and was in great shape when I received it. It had a different style cover though but same materials Inside
The only reason that I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because while it has many stories within it, I was hoping for a few more. The book itself and the contents are amazing as far as I'm concerned though!
Poor print, poor paper quality. Returned.
This was my 8th grade English class text in my favorite teacher's class (1959). I thought that I would never even remember the name of it let alone find it for sale somewhere!! I am so astounded and thrilled. This is the finest mythology text of ALL time. For Greek/Roman mythology lovers everywhere this is a MUST read. The 1893 edition (hardbound) has all of the original published "prints" in it and later reprints (Dover paperbacks) don't, so I've been told. I dearly love this book...memories evoked. I've managed to find two of the first editions!!
Interesting exploration of the nature of Greek myths surrounding the major deities; a kind of anthropological history, faithful to contemporary accounts of the early anthropologists.
